What is Crepe Myrtle Slender Black?
Lagerstroemia SLENDER BLACK™ is a modern crepe myrtle cultivar developed for small spaces and contemporary landscapes. Its narrow habit makes it ideal where width is limited, while its dark foliage provides year-round visual impact. During summer, clusters of vivid flowers emerge above the foliage, attracting beneficial pollinators and adding long-lasting seasonal colour.
How to care for Crepe Myrtle Slender Black
Plant in a sunny to lightly shaded position with well-drained soil for best flowering and foliage colour. Water regularly during establishment, then reduce as the plant matures and becomes more drought tolerant. Apply mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune lightly during winter to maintain a tidy shape or leave unpruned for a more natural appearance. Feed with a slow-release fertiliser in spring to encourage healthy growth and flowering.
